LaLa Land Creative Company LLC, a Los Angeles-based design studio, is seeking a detail-oriented Apparel Technical Designer to support technical development from concept to production. The role focuses on tech packs, measurements, and construction specifications, with cross-functional collaboration to meet design intent and quality standards.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience in apparel technical design.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, pattern measurements, grading, and apparel manufacturing processes.
• Experience creating and maintaining tech packs, measurement charts, BOMs, and construction specifications.
• Ability to accurately measure garments and identify fit, construction, and workmanship issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when providing technical feedback to overseas factories and vendors.

Responsabilidades

• Review and fit, pre-production, and TOP samples to evaluate fit, measurements, construction, and overall garment quality.
• Spec samples to determine compliance of specs, construction, quality and design intent; compare to tech pack requirements.
• Take detailed notes during fit sessions to execute fit comments and keep production timelines aligned.
• Provide clear, accurate fit comments, measurement corrections, and construction recommendations to factories and vendors.
• Communicate technical requirements, sample revisions, and construction clarifications to factories and vendors to ensure alignment with company standards.
• Identify potential construction, fit, and workmanship issues and recommend solutions to improve product quality and consistency.
• Monitor sample submissions, maintain technical documentation, and follow up on corrections and approvals to meet timelines.
• Partner with design, product development, sourcing, and production teams to support timely execution.
• Review approved samples and technical specifications to ensure bulk production aligns with approvals.
• Review graded nest patterns and issue grading guidelines to vendors post-fit approval to maintain consistent fit.
• Communicate fit approvals with buyers where necessary.
• Oversee and organize the sample library of approved Import samples with Tech Designer and Production Patternmaker.
• Complete ad hoc assignments as assigned by management.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Apparel Technical Designer to support the technical development of apparel from initial concept through production. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate technical specifications, reviewing garment samples, providing fit and construction comments, and communicating technical requirements to factories and vendors.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of garment construction, fit, pattern measurements, grading, and technical documentation, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure products meet design intent, quality standards, and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and fit, pre-production, and TOP samples to evaluate fit, measurements, construction, and overall garment quality.
• Spec samples to determine compliance of specs, construction, quality and design intent. Compare construction and overall execution vs. tech pack requirements.
• Take detailed notes during fit session to execute fit comments promptly to keep the fit process aligned with production timelines.
• Provide clear, accurate, and actionable fit comments, measurement corrections, and construction recommendations to factories and vendors.
• Communicate technical requirements, sample revisions, and construction clarifications to factories and vendors to ensure alignment with company standards.
• Identify potential construction, fit, and workmanship issues and recommend solutions to improve product quality and consistency.
• Monitor sample submissions, maintain technical documentation, and follow up on outstanding corrections and approvals to meet development and production timelines.
• Partner with design, product development, sourcing, and production teams to support timely and accurate product execution.
• Review approved samples and technical specifications to help ensure bulk production aligns with approved fit, construction, and quality expectations.
• Review graded nest patterns and issue grading guidelines to vendors post-fit approval to maintain consistent fit and quality.
• Communicate fit approvals with buyers where necessary.
• In conjunction with the Tech Designer and Production Patternmaker, oversee and organize the sample library of approved Import samples.
• Complete ad hoc assignments as assigned by management.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work in the US
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in apparel technical design.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, pattern measurements, grading, and apparel manufacturing processes.
• Experience creating and maintaining tech packs, measurement charts, BOMs, and construction specifications.
• Ability to accurately measure garments and identify fit, construction, and workmanship issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when providing technical feedback to overseas factories and vendors.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple styles, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator, and other apparel-related technical design systems.
• Experience working with overseas factories and vendors is a plus.
