The Amatriot Group is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to join our NYSoH partnership in New York. You will design and enhance complex system components, lead design discussions, and ensure adherence to architectural standards across the application.

You will work with Java/J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, REST/SOAP, MuleSoft, and DB2 to deliver scalable solutions, mentor developers, and optimize rules and performance while collaborating with analysts, architects, and project teams in a healthcare

Formación

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6-10 years of software development/design experience in enterprise environments.
• Expert knowledge in Java/J2EE technologies, Spring, Hibernate, MuleSoft, REST/SOAP Web Services, and DB2.
• Strong experience in creating low-level design artifacts and working with rule-based engines (Drools).
• Experience designing for microservice and SOA implementations using RESTful and/or traditional web services with technologies such as JSON, SOAP, XML.
• Proven ability to lead technical discussions and mentor junior developers.
• Experience using AI tools for technical analysis or development support.

Responsabilidades

• Design and enhance complex system components within the NYSoH application.
• Lead technical design sessions and provide input on requirements, solution designs, timelines, and risks.
• Develop features such as eligibility determination, verification workflows, immigration processes, income calculations, and member-level eligibility using Java/J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, REST/SOAP, MuleSoft, and DB2.
• Translate functional and non-functional requirements into detailed technical design documents, including class diagrams, sequence diagrams, API specifications, data models, and integration designs.
• Develop authentication and authorization modules for Individuals, Employers, Brokers, Navigators, Customer Service Representatives, and Super Eligibility Users.
• Provide technical consultation on coding best practices, workflows, and Drools DRL rules.
• Collaborate with development teams on work definition, estimation, and prioritization.
• Enhance and optimize Drools DRL rules for performance, maintainability, and reusability.
• Analyze existing application processes to identify improvement opportunities and lead enhancements based on findings.
• Improve pre-processing logic, caching mechanisms, and performance-related components.
• Conduct detailed technical reviews to ensure compliance with NYSOH architecture standards.
• Lead defect triage efforts to determine whether issues stem from design gaps, application logic, or requirement inconsistencies.
• Perform root cause analysis, identify impacted populations, and provide detailed reports and recommended solutions.
• Propose and document remediation approaches, workarounds, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to determine corrective actions and ensure defect resolutions are properly implemented in builds.
• Develop proofs-of-concept (POCs) to validate new technologies or design approaches.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and modern design methodologies to enhance the application stack.
• Collaborate with business analysts, solution developers, and clients to resolve system issues and ensure application functionality.
• Apply Java design patterns and engineering principles to verify and strengthen system reliability.

Position Overview:

Amatriot is looking for a passionate, highly-skilled, self-motivated, experienced Senior Technical Designer to join our team in partnership with New York State of Health (NYSoH) to provide comprehensive health coverage to New Yorker’s.

The Senior Technical Designer is responsible for designing and enhancing complex system components within the NYSoH application. This role works closely with Design leadership, Architects, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and development teams to deliver detailed technical designs, lead design discussions, and ensure adherence to architectural and coding standards across the application.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Solution Design & Development

• Develop creative, efficient, and scalable technical solutions for complex application functionality.
• Lead technical design sessions and provide expert input on requirements, solution designs, timelines, and potential risks.
• Design and develop features such as eligibility determination, verification workflows, immigration processes, income calculations, and member-level eligibility using Java/J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, REST/SOAP services, MuleSoft, and DB2.

• Ensure technical designs and developed code meet quality, security, and architectural standards.
• Support daily status meetings with Project Managers, Architects, and developers to communicate progress and resolve issues.

System Analysis & Optimization

• Enhance and optimize existing Drools DRL rules for performance, maintainability, and reusability.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Solid understanding and practical experience of applying JQuery concepts such as handling Events, AJAX through JQuery, selecting and traversing DOM objects.
• Experience with Single Page Application (SPA) frameworks, such as Angular and React.
• Healthcare, Medicaid or Health Exchange experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical applications.
