Job summary

CapTech Consulting seeks a Senior Technical Business Systems Analyst to join delivery teams, working at the intersection of business and technology to elicit requirements, shape solution design, and guide delivery from discovery through validation. The role covers multi-system initiatives, APIs, cloud solutions, and data workflows, with onsite client visits as needed.

4–7 years of BSA experience, strong communication, and Jira/Confluence proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience as a BSA, technical analyst, or similar role on IT initiatives.
• Experience on multi-system solutions and integrations with common challenges.
• Ability to create process/data flows and sequence diagrams for current/future state.
• Experience writing/refining user stories for Agile or iterative delivery.
• Understanding of APIs, cloud-based solutions, and distributed systems.
• Ability to write and execute basic SQL queries for analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor and partner to stakeholders across business and technology.
• Contribute on cross-functional teams through all phases of system delivery lifecycle.
• Lead requirements elicitation via interviews, workshops, and sessions.
• Assist design with data modeling, interfaces, integrations, and workflows.
• Analyze current data/state to inform future-state solutions.
• Bridge business and technical perspectives for scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Evaluate current processes and perform gap analyses to surface options.
• Write and refine epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate and support integration testing and UAT activities.
• Communicate clearly to technical teams and business leadership.
• Expect a hybrid client-site schedule with regular onsite visits.

Technical Business Systems Analysts (BSAs) at CapTech work side‑by‑side with business and technical stakeholders toelicit solution requirements, drive solution design, and ensure delivered products meet real business needs. Our BSAs work on a wide range of initiatives—from custom digital product development to large‑scale integration and modernization efforts spanning multiple systems and lines of business.

This mid‑level Technical BSA role is ideal for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of business and technology, thrives in ambiguity, and brings aconsultant’s mindsetto problem solving. You will play a hands‑on role throughout the full delivery lifecycle, helping teams move from unclear problems to well‑designed, high‑quality solutions.

• Quickly become familiar with client business challenges and technology landscapes in order to act as atrusted advisor and subject‑matter partnerto stakeholders.
• Act as a key contributor on cross‑functional teams throughall phases of the system delivery lifecycle, from discovery through delivery and validation.
• Lead and supportrequirements elicitationusing interviews, workshops, and collaborative working sessions to surface business needs and clarify solution intent.
• Assist technical teams withsolution design, including data modeling, interface definitions, integrations, and state or process flows.
• Analyze data to understandcurrent‑state structures, data quality, and business impact, and help define how data supports future‑state solutions.
• Bridge business and technical perspectives to ensure solutions arevaluable, usable, scalable, and maintainable.
• Evaluate current‑state processes and systems, work with stakeholders to define a desired future state, and performgap analysisto identify solution options.
• Write and refineepics, user stories, and acceptance criteriaas part of an iterative delivery team.
• Coordinate and supportintegration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT)activities.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with both technical team members and business leadership, adapting your message to your audience.
• This roleshould expect a hybrid client‑site schedule, with regular onsite visits each week based on engagement requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• 4–7 years of experienceworking as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Analyst, or similar role on IT‑related initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience working onmulti‑system solutions and integrations, with an understanding of common enterprise integration challenges.
• Experience creatingprocess flows, data flows, sequence diagrams, or system diagramsto visualize current and future state solutions.
• Experience writing and refininguser stories and requirementsfor Agile or iterative delivery teams.
• Understanding ofmodern IT architectures, including APIs, cloud‑based solutions, and distributed systems.
• Ability to write and executebasic SQL queriesto support analysis and validation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency with common project delivery tools such asJIRA and Confluence.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in regulated industries such as energy, utilities, infrastructure, or public sector environments.
• Exposure todigital product delivery, beyond traditional project‑based implementations.
• Prior consulting experience or demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a client‑facing, advisory role.
• Understanding how MS Dynamics and Power Platform integrates with other components in an Enterprise, like Salesforce
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Power Platform certifications is strongly preferred.
