As a Senior Technical Business Analyst , you will play a foundational role in shaping project success—ensuring that technical teams build the right things, the right way.

The Role

As a Senior Technical Business Analyst , you will lead the translation of complex business needs into actionable, testable, and technically feasible user stories. You will partner closely with stakeholders, delivery managers, and development teams to guide a project from discovery through to successful deployment. The ideal candidate has demonstrable experience driving end-to-end software delivery , with active contributions to managing project outcomes.

This is not an entry-level role. You must have played a key role in the successful delivery of at least one full software project , with strong ownership of outcomes and cross-functional collaboration.

Core Responsibilities

  • Drive Requirement Discovery: Partner with product owners and stakeholders to elicit and define detailed business and technical requirements.
  • Write High-Quality User Stories: Author and maintain well-decomposed, testable user stories with clear acceptance criteria and a well-defined Definition of Done (DoD) .
  • Facilitate Agile Ceremonies: Lead or support sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Delivery Management: Actively support or lead project delivery—tracking progress, resolving roadblocks, ensuring milestones are met, and collaborating across roles to deliver business value on time.
  • Backlog Ownership: Prioritize and refine product backlogs in partnership with Product Owners and Scrum Masters.
  • Research & Documentation: Conduct product, user, or market research and translate insights into actionable requirements.
  • Support Testing Activities: Participate in application and user acceptance testing, ensuring requirements traceability and alignment with business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Coaching: Educate and guide stakeholders on Agile practices and product lifecycle concepts.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Agile software development environments.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to or managing successful software delivery efforts.
  • Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and SDLC.
  • Proven ability to write robust user stories , acceptance criteria, and Definition of Done that drive delivery quality.
  • Skilled at leading Agile ceremonies and resolving blockers through facilitation and negotiation.
  • Comfortable managing ambiguity, resolving stakeholder misalignment, and driving clarity.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Jira, Confluence , or equivalent platforms.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance .

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in delivery management or coordination on complex software projects.
  • Background in government or enterprise-scale project delivery.
  • Familiarity with Section 508 Accessibility guidelines.
  • Exposure to UX design and ability to collaborate with design teams.
  • Agile certifications (CSM, CSPO, SAFe) and experience in dual-role environments (e.g., BA/Scrum Master).
  • Technical background including a BS in Computer Science or related, or experience with software development..
