MKS Inc. in Beaverton, OR, seeks a Technical Associate to join engineering teams and help develop, build, test, and troubleshoot advanced laser-based, electro-mechanical, and precision motion control systems used in high-tech manufacturing.

You will report to the Manufacturing Production Manager and partner with design engineers to improve performance. You will mentor junior technicians, support product development and sustaining engineering, and conduct experiments to collect performance data.

Qualificações

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or related field.
• 6+ years hands-on experience in engineering, development, manufacturing, or service.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Experience using laboratory and diagnostic equipment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsabilidades

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Technical Associate at MKS, you will partner with Engineering to help develop, build, test, and troubleshoot advanced laser-based, electro-mechanical, and precision motion control systems used in high-tech manufacturing applications. In this role, you will report to the Manufacturing Production Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Building, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting prototype and pre-production systems.
• Supporting product development, validation, and sustaining engineering activities.
• Conducting engineering experiments and collecting performance data.
• Diagnosing electrical, mechanical, optical, and software-controlled system issues.
• Working closely with design engineers to improve product performance and reliability.
• Supporting Manufacturing and Field Service organizations with advanced technical problem solving.
• Documenting test results, procedures, and troubleshooting activities.
• Mentoring junior technicians and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Travel Requirements: International travel may be required.

Skills You Bring:

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechanical Technology, or equivalent technical experience.
• 6+ years of hands‑on experience in an engineering, development, manufacturing, or service environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills involving electrical, mechanical, and automated systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Experience using laboratory and diagnostic equipment.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Bonus:

This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
