Job summary

Epic Games in Cary, NC seeks a Senior Technical Artist to join the Unreal Engine team. You will shape the future of world-building and content creation tools, collaborating across engineering, UX, and production to deliver industry-leading capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in world-building and/or content creation (Senior Technical Artist or equivalent) collaborating with strong engineering teams.
• Subject matter expertise in environment and asset production, 3D modeling, geometry scripting, and procedural content generation.
• Experience with Unreal's PCG Framework, Houdini, Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
• Ability to represent user needs and align near-term tactics with long-term product goals.
• Experience driving product initiatives from development to productization.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to designing and iteratively developing world-building and content creation tools in Unreal Engine.
• Partner with Programming and UX teams to design workflows and build applicable solutions.
• Ensure tools are best-in-class by creating prototypes, demos, and examples, and providing ongoing feedback.
• Drive product initiatives with minimal direction.
• Engage with Epic Games production teams and external users to understand needs and requirements.
• Apply subject matter expertise to influence product deliverables and manage the roadmap.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales to articulate problems solved and value delivered to users.
