Job summary

Nbutexas is seeking a Senior Technical Advisor-Electrical Engineering/Public Works in El Paso, TX. You will oversee electrical engineering for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects, guiding a dedicated team on complex municipal utility designs and cost estimates.

The role requires a Texas-registered PE, six years of relevant experience, and leadership abilities to mentor engineers while coordinating with city officials and contractors. Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Six years of professional engineering experience in municipal utility systems.
  • Two years of experience as a Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Two years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Texas PE license or reciprocal license within one year.
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License by appointment.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly in writing and presentations.
  • Spanish speaking ability is a plus.

  • Lead teams in designing utility electrical facilities and prepare plans and cost estimates.

Senior Technical Advisor Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Six (6) years of professional engineering experience in industrial facility systems or municipal potable water and/or wastewater electrical systems
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Engineer
  • Two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Texas (or reciprocal license convertible within one year)
  • Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent by the time of appointment
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly in writing and in presentations

Senior Technical Advisor Preferred Background & Skills
  • Expertise with power distribution, motor controls, SCADA, and renewables integration for utility environments
  • Strong familiarity with electrical-specific CADD/design software
  • Advanced knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations (Federal, State, local) relating to municipal utility projects
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with city officials, regulatory bodies, vendors, and contractors
