We seek experienced Technical Advisors (Senior Project Leader – Engineering Program Management and Systems Engineering) to support NOAA NESDIS and USGS SLI programs, and to strengthen interagency partnerships with NASA, NOAA, and USGS.

Selected candidates will work full‑time on‑site at NOAA headquarters in Silver Spring, MD or USGS HQ in Reston, VA, guiding

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in applicable STEM areas.
• Twelve or more years of professional civil space programs experience.
• Experience with Earth‑observation portfolios and federal mission roles.
• Ability to contribute technical insight to policy development and strategy.
• Strong grasp of commercial partnership strategies and data products.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical advisor to NOAA NESDIS and USGS SLI leadership.
• Lead portfolio-level systems engineering, architecture guidance and integration.
• Support commercial strategy with industry engagement and data options.
• Advise on international activities and partnerships for NOAA/USGS missions.
• Develop and guide policy aligned with federal directives and priorities.
• Provide senior technical guidance on new mission development and readiness.
• Build partnerships with other federal agencies to enable interagency coordination.
• Deliver technical leadership for stakeholder communications and engagement.
• Champion data discovery, accessibility, and resilient weather system capabilities.
• Mentor multidisciplinary teams supporting NOAA and USGS missions.
