Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC seeks a Senior Technical Accounting Associate to lead technical accounting across SAP, GAAP, IFRS and regulatory reporting. You will influence policy, draft memorandums, and partner with leadership on complex transactions in a high-impact role.

The role offers a base salary of $150,000–$200,000 with bonus, 20 days of PTO, and a hybrid schedule (3 in-office days Tue–Thu) with remote flexibility during close.

• Strong technical accounting background with GAAP/IFRS knowledge.
• Experience researching complex accounting issues and preparing memorandums.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the firm's technical accounting expert for SAP, GAAP, IFRS, and insurance regulatory reporting.
• Research and analyze complex accounting issues and emerging guidance.
• Advise internal stakeholders on accounting treatment of sophisticated transactions.
• Lead technical accounting research and policy documentation.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with insurance accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support audits, financial reporting, and regulatory filings.
• Partner with leadership on policy decisions and implementation strategies.
• Monitor industry developments and provide guidance on new standards.

What You'll Be Doing

• Serve as the firm's technical accounting expert for Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), GAAP, IFRS, and insurance regulatory reporting


• Research and analyze complex accounting issues and emerging accounting guidance


• Advise internal stakeholders on the accounting treatment of sophisticated investment transactions


• Lead technical accounting research and prepare accounting memorandums and policy documentation


• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures


• Ensure compliance with insurance accounting standards and regulatory requirements


• Support audits, financial reporting, and regulatory filings


• Partner with leadership on accounting policy decisions and implementation strategies


• Monitor industry developments and provide guidance on new accounting standards


• Act as a trusted advisor on complex accounting and reporting matters across the organization

Qualifications

• Strong technical accounting background with experience in GAAP and accounting research


• Public accounting, technical accounting, insurance accounting, or financial reporting experience preferred


• CPA strongly preferred


• Proven ability to interpret complex accounting guidance and communicate conclusions effectively


• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities


• Experience preparing technical accounting memorandums and accounting position papers preferred


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
