Job summary

A financial services corporation is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in financial activities. You will oversee accounting operations, prepare accounting documentation, and develop internal controls. Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, five years of accounting experience in financial services, and strong analytical skills. Familiarity with US GAAP and Oracle products is beneficial. This position is located in New York City.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of accounting experience in the financial services industry.
• Public accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP principles and practices.
• Experience with hedge accounting, consolidations, and special purpose vehicles (SPVs) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support day-to-day accounting activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and management reporting.
• Prepare technical accounting papers related to accounting pronouncements and their impact.
• Develop and refine accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with the finance team for timely financial reporting.
• Assist in managing internal and external audits.
