Job summary

ASRC Federal is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to support complex financial reporting, technical accounting, and compliance in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Hybrid work: 2 days onsite in Reston, VA. The candidate should have a CPA (or equivalent), 8–10 years of accounting experience, and advanced Excel skills, with familiarity in Deltek Costpoint. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 8–10 years of accounting experience, or an equivalent combination with CPA.
• Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting preferred.
• Experience preparing technical accounting memos, position papers, or white papers.
• Experience performing P&L and balance sheet analysis with variance analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills for financial reporting and analysis, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint is preferred.
• Must possess strong attention to detail and integrity; U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial information and prepare all financial reports.
• Maintain or oversee control of accounts and records including disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income.
• Compile and analyze financial information to record transactions and review accuracy.
• Prepare balance sheet, P&L, cash flow statements, and consolidated financial statements and reports.
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and auditing procedures.
• Prepare technical accounting and financial reporting position papers on revenue recognition, EAC reviews, and policy.

ASRC Federal is an experienced Senior Technical Accountant to support complex financial reporting, technical accounting, and compliance activities within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Work Location: Hybrid, 2 days onsite in Reston, VA

Summary: This role will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing and consolidating financial statements, ensuring adherence to accounting policies and internal controls, and supporting key business initiatives including revenue recognition, EAC reviews, and technical accounting assessments. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, advanced Excel capabilities, and the ability to operate with a high level of integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

• Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare all financial reports.
• Maintain or oversee the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income.
• Compile and analyze financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy.
• Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow statements, prepares and consolidates financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.
• Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures and internal controls.
• Prepare written technical accounting and financial reporting position papers for review, revenue recognition, EAC reviews and policy, impairment, equity-method investees, acquisitions, and discontinued operations.

Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and a minimum of 8–10 years of accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience with CPA certification.
• Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition and technical accounting assessments. Knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting preferred.
• Experience preparing technical accounting memos, position papers, or white papers.
• Experience performing P&L and balance sheet analysis, including variance/flux analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills supporting financial reporting and analysis, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and other financial modeling tools.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint preferred.
• Possess strong attention to detail, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and integrity.
• Eagerness to learn and grow within a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen to meet the requirements of this position
