Creative Financial Staffing, LLC seeks a Senior Technical Accountant to lead ASC 606 revenue recognition for technology products and to guide GAAP compliance across the finance function. The role partners with legal and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, including stock-based compensation, and to support the annual audit process. This is a full-time position in a growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
• 5+ years of experience in technical accounting, preferably in tech.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge including ASC 606.

Responsibilities

• Lead revenue recognition policy implementation in ASC 606 for tech products/services.
• Provide guidance on emerging accounting standards and their impact.
• Oversee financial reporting accuracy and GAAP compliance.
• Manage stock-based compensation accounting (options and RSUs).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate technical accounting into processes.
• Support external auditors during annual audits.
• Identify and implement process improvements in technical accounting.

Senior Technical Accountant

Salary: $90,000-120,000 + Bonus

Responsibilities of the Senior Technical Accountant:

• Revenue Recognition: Lead the assessment and implementation of revenue recognition policies in accordance with ASC 606 for our diverse range of technology products and services.
• Technical Accounting Guidance: Stay informed about emerging accounting standards and provide guidance on their impact on the company’s financial statements.
• Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Stock-based Compensation: Manage the accounting for stock-based compensation, including stock options and RSUs.
• Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with finance, legal, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of technical accounting considerations into business processes.
• Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to streamline technical accounting processes and enhance efficiency.

Qualifications of the Senior Technical Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification is required.
• Extensive experience (5+ years) in technical accounting roles, preferably in the technology industry.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical accounting concepts to non-accounting stakeholders.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
