Job summary

The University of Washington’s Office of Research seeks a Sr. Technology Project Manager for coordinating software integration and development projects for researcher-focused initiatives. This is a 1-year term appointment with potential renewal, reporting to the Agile PMO Manager.

You will lead agile teams, serve as Scrum Master, manage scope, schedule and budgets, and partner with stakeholders to deliver value while navigating UW's complex administrative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science Information Science, or a related field.
• 4-5 years of experience in project management/business analysis or progressively more complex tasks involving project leadership.
• Experience managing, leading and participating in progressively more complex projects/product development.
• Demonstrated experience with project management methodologies including planning, resource management, consensus building, and process improvement.
• Experience with vendor product implementations, RFI/RFP vendor selection and procurement activities and partnering with vendor resources.
• Experience leading Agile software development teams.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience managing organizational change in coordination with implementing technical improvements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, work with and support cross-functional project teams.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Define scope, risks and objectives of major releases; develop schedules and budgets and monitor progress across streams.
• Ensure project teams have adequate resources, skills and support to deliver prioritized efforts.
• Serve software development teams as Scrum Master, facilitating ceremonies, coordinating feature development, testing, release and communications.
• Promote agile project management and software development best practices.
• Meet regularly with stakeholders to schedule projects/features based on prioritization from managers.
• Lead, organize and influence cross-functional teams to drive results.
• Facilitate resolution of issues within the project decision making structure and determine escalation/resolution.
• Provide overall project leadership including scope, schedules, budgets and status reports.
• Develop project plans and risk mitigation materials to support execution and control.
• Advise on impact of IT solutions as they relate to research at the University of Washington.
