Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking an Audit Consultant focused on Technology Infrastructure and Operations. This senior individual contributor will lead technology audits across engineering, operations, governance, risk management, and architecture to provide assurance over technology risks, cloud environments, and AI.

The role requires leading teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and delivering high-impact audit results with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field plus 7 years relevant experience.
• In lieu of degree, a combined minimum of 11 years higher education and/or work experience including 7 years relevant work experience and 2 years of work leadership experience.
• Experience auditing compute, database, network and storage infrastructure risks and IT governance concepts.
• Experience auditing cloud environments, notably Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements/expectations in financial services tech risk.

Responsibilities

• Stay abreast of best practices and industry developments and consult with audit teams to ensure coverage.
• Execute highly visible and complex audit procedures in a risk-focused manner.
• Analyze findings and propose pragmatic solutions for final reports.
• Lead validation procedures for Internal Audit and Regulatory issues requiring subject matter expertise.
• Organize work within budgets and time frames with minimal direction.
• Incorporate data analytics throughout all audit phases.
• Communicate status to senior management and stakeholders.
