Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking an Audit Consultant focused on Technology Infrastructure and Operations to lead complex technology audits across the bank's product and platform ecosystem. This role combines independent delivery with collaboration across IT, risk management, and governance functions.

The position is hybrid (onsite 4 days/week with 1 day remote) and requires strong judgment, regulatory knowledge, and hands-on experience with Azure, mainframe, and cloud security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field and 7 years of relevant experience (2 years leadership).
• Demonstrates strong judgment, political astuteness, and cultural awareness.
• Experience auditing compute, database, network and storage infrastructure risks and IT governance concepts.
• Experience auditing cloud-based environments (notably Microsoft Azure).
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to technology and cybersecurity in financial services.
• Strong project management and interpersonal skills; proactive with independent thinking.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute complex technology audits across the product and platform ecosystem.
• Provide assurance over technology risks, cloud environments, and emerging technologies such as AI.
• Plan and execute audits with adherence to standards, budgets, and timelines.
• Incorporate data analytics throughout audit processes.
• Communicate status and issues to senior management and stakeholders.
• Coach or mentor junior audit team members and collaborate with business partners.
