About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Team Leader to manage a $10M+ premium portfolio of small to mid-market commercial clients and lead a team of account professionals. This leadership role combines strategic client advisory with hands-on team development and operational optimization. The ideal candidate has strong technical P&C coverage knowledge, experience managing a book of business, and a passion for process efficiency and team mentorship.

You will work with an internal team to redesign workflows across the client lifecycle, helping to delegate tasks appropriately between account executives and support staff. This is an opportunity to help define the structure, service model, and growth strategy for our commercial practice in a fast-paced, fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and mentor a team of account professionals with support from a centralized operations team.
  • Provide regular feedback and coaching to drive performance, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Help recruit and onboard new team members and contribute to their ongoing development.
Client & Book Management
  • Manage a portfolio of mid-market commercial accounts with direct-written business.
  • Serve as a technical and strategic advisor for clients, ensuring tailored insurance programs and high service standards.
  • Address complex or escalated issues as needed and provide expert-level resolution.
Operational Excellence
  • Redesign workflows and delegate tasks across the client lifecycle (submissions, quoting, binders, endorsements, renewals, claims).
  • Optimize processes using Sagitta and ImageRight/WorkSmart.
  • Monitor team performance using KPIs, dashboards, and other metrics.
Carrier & Market Engagement
  • Maintain strong carrier relationships to negotiate competitive terms.
  • Support junior staff with underwriting communications and marketing strategies.
  • Deliver compelling presentations tailored to underwriters and client priorities.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in a commercial P&C insurance brokerage environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing client accounts and mentoring team members.
  • Deep technical knowledge across Property, General Liability, Auto, Umbrella, Workers' Comp, and E&O.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present to clients, underwriters, and internal teams.
  • Proficient in agency management and imaging systems (Sagitta and ImageRight required).
  • Strong goal-setting and production tracking capabilities using KPIs and dashboards.
  • Compliance and documentation awareness, including surplus lines, E&O, and state licensing.
  • Active Property & Casualty license required.
  • Comfortable working in a remote, collaborative, fast-moving environment.
