Job summary

IBM Consulting in the United States is seeking a Senior Managing Consultant in Technology Value Management to make technology costs visible and defensible for CIOs and CFOs. You will design TBM/FinOps frameworks and lead a team on cloud cost and AI cost initiatives.

You will build budgets, forecasts, and business cases across run, grow, transform, ensuring governance and measurable value for client engagements.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in technology finance or cloud cost advisory roles.
Hands-on experience designing TBM cost models or cloud allocation and chargeback models.
History of building technology investment business cases from a measured baseline.

Responsibilities

Design TBM cost transparency mapping costs from general ledger to apps/services.
Define cloud cost allocation, showback and chargeback models for client use.
Architect TBM/FinOps practices: roles, governance, and maturity path.
Identify cloud/software spend reductions across budgets and cycles.
Define unit cost metrics for cloud placement decisions.
Incorporate AI cost for model/inference into TBM taxonomy; test token yield.
Build budgets/forecasts with client finance across run, grow, transform.
Clarify TBM/FinOps platform delivery vs advisory work.
Benchmark spend against defensible peer sets.
Prepare software license positions ahead of renewal.
Track benefits realization through the financial statements.
Build business cases from a measured baseline of current operations.
