Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Tax Experienced Senior for Core Tax Services in Chicago. The role focuses on applying tax foundational knowledge, performing research, gathering client information, and supporting tax planning to prepare accurate tax returns for review.

You will act as the main client contact and may supervise Core Tax Services Associates. The position requires strong communication, tax analysis, and project coordination skills, with extensive experience in tax compliance and ASC 740/FIN 48.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or statistics; CPA preferred
• CPA certification or eligibility to test required; Master’s in taxation preferred
• Three+ years of tax experience in public accounting, private industry, or consulting preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead tax compliance with client, ensuring timely, accurate filings and adherence to policy
• Review returns and provide guidance to associates; identify tax issues
• Prepare provision workpapers and discuss with team members; assist with ASC 740/FIN 48 disclosures
• Identify and pursue tax planning opportunities to minimize client taxes
• Mentor Core Tax Services Associates and supervise day-to-day activities
