Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking an experienced tax professional to ensure accuracy of routine tax assignments and oversee special projects across tax accounting and compliance. The role focuses on ASC 740 review, risk assessment, and documentation for financial statements.

The candidate will lead QA reviews, guide junior staff, and contribute to tax planning, provision, and compliance efforts across the organization and affiliates.

Qualifications

• 7 years of relevant progressive experience in tax with QA/control or supervisory roles.
• Experience in tax accounting (ASC 740), tax compliance and planning in corporate or public accounting; ability to review others' work.

Responsibilities

• Review tax provisions and returns for accuracy and compliance.
• Lead QA reviews of tax work for significant transactions (mergers & acquisitions, divestitures).
• Identify and mitigate tax risks in transactions and projects.
• Provide guidance and training to junior staff as needed.
• Maintain internal tax procedures and controls; support tax planning and compliance.
