• Examine tax workpapers, supporting documentation, reconciliations, and tax calculations for accuracy.
• Verify compliance with tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements.
• Identify errors, omissions and communicate adjustments to preparers.
• Review complex tax matters including pass-through taxation and credits.
• Ensure timely completion of tax return reviews, extensions, and filings.
• Review tax notices and assist with IRS/state responses as needed.
• Provide technical guidance to staff on complex tax positions.
