Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Professional to interview clients (in person or virtually), prepare tax returns, and drive client growth with trusted guidance. You’ll join an experienced team providing advanced tax training and support, with opportunities to expand services and increase client retention.

The role requires accounting or related degree, CPA/EA certification, and experience with complex returns, tax planning, and audits. Strong communication and engagement skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership).
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax.
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews.
• Experience with tax planning and audit support.
• Sales and/or marketing experience.
• Must complete continuing education requirements and meet IRS/state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools – video, phone, chat, email.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
• Provide clients with IRS support (notice services where certified).
• Mentor and support teammates.
