Job summary

Walker Glantz is seeking a Tax Manager for a fully remote or hybrid role in Austin, TX. The base salary ranges from $145,000 to $160,000 per year, plus up to 10% variable compensation and a $10,000 signing bonus. The position includes health, dental, vision insurance and a 401(k) with employer matching.

You will manage federal/state returns, perform tax advisory work, and lead a team in a dynamic tax department. Strong leadership and technical accounting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong background as Tax Manager with 4+ years tax experience and 1+ year leading a team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and tax software.
• Licensed CPA or EA required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/review federal and state corporate, individual, and partnership tax returns.
• Research tax issues and legislation, and interpret tax code.
• Make projections on future tax liabilities for client recommendations.
• Interact with client personnel and manage deadlines.
• Provide training to coworkers on tax expertise.
• Lead and mentor junior staff on technical accounting areas.
