RMW Accounting, a fast-growing private equity backed accounting firm, is expanding its Tax Practice in McKinleyville, CA. The Tax Manager will oversee delivery of accurate, timely tax compliance and advisory services for individuals and entities, guiding staff and collaborating with office leaders to drive client value and revenue.

The role combines deep technical tax knowledge with leadership, project management, and a client-service mindset to ensure consistent, high-quality deliverables

Qualifications

• 7 or more years of relevant tax experience preferred.
• CPA or EA preferred.
• Ability to work well independently and with a team.
• Advanced computer skills on Microsoft platforms; UltraTax and Practice CS used but not required.
• Proficient with QuickBooks and trial balance software.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Desire to expand current knowledge base.

Responsibilities

• Review U.S. and multi-state income tax returns for business entities, including C‑corporations, S‑Corporations, partnerships, and fiduciary returns.
• Review U.S. and state individual income and gift tax returns.
• Prepare tax projections for individual and corporate clients.
• Conduct tax research as needed.
• Communicate with existing clients and colleagues regarding various tax matters.
• Engage in consulting and special projects as requested by clients.
