Job summary

Prosperity Partners in Iselin, NJ, seeks an energetic Senior Tax Manager to support our growing tax practice. You will lead engagements, manage complex returns, and work closely with the lead partner on M&A tax matters.

Strong leadership and client communication are essential, with a requirement to be in the office at least three days per week. The ideal candidate has ten years of public accounting experience, CPA certification, and strong analytical skills to drive planning opportunities

Qualifications

• Ten years of public accounting experience with a regional, national or multi-national firm.
• CPA certification required; MST is a plus.
• Strong leadership, client relationship building and staff mentoring.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; able to draft memos and interact with clients and authorities.
• Comfortable presenting to clients and peers; able to work in a collaborative, in-office environment.

Responsibilities

• Run tax engagements from start to finish for complex business, individual and trust returns.
• Research and analyze multifaceted tax issues and provide planning opportunities.
• Collaborate with the lead tax partner on sophisticated M&A transactions.
• Draft client memos and communicate with clients and taxing authorities.
• Lead staff and manage client expectations; contribute to business development and growth.

Job description

Prosperity Partners ("Prosperity") is a Chicago-headquartered professional services firm offering best-in-class tax, accounting, transaction advisory and personal finance services to dynamic businesses, high net-worth individuals, and family offices. With offices throughout the United States and private equity backing, Prosperity is seeking an energetic, experienced Senior Tax Manager to support our growing tax practice in Iselin. The candidate must have a strong work ethic, exceptional leadership qualities and at least ten years' public accounting experience.

The candidate will be a tax generalist that runs engagements from start to finish. They should be able to manage tax preparation for complex business, individual and trust federal and state income tax returns, research and analyze multifaceted tax issues, identify and implement tax planning and consulting opportunities, and work closely with the lead tax partner on sophisticated M&A transactions. Excellent communication skills are valued as candidates will frequently draft memos and correspond with clients and taxing authorities. Candidates will be strong company advocates and role models who embrace a leadership role. Due to the collaborative nature of our work, employees are expected to be in office three days per week.

We accept resumes consistent with the following background and ability:

• Minimum of ten years’ experience at a regional, national or multi-national accounting firm;
• An accounting degree from an accredited four-year university;
• CPA certification required;
• MST is a plus;
• A strong ability to manage client and internal expectations, grow client relationships and lead staff;
• Proficiency in the selling process, including meeting and corresponding with prospective new clients, preparing job budgets and drafting engagement letters;
• Real estate experience is a plus;
• An understanding of the internal operations of a firm including billing, budgeting, and long term goals;
• Excellent analytical and technical skills, including exposure to family office, multi-state, and flow-through taxation.
• Capable of expanding their portfolio of clients as well as the firm’s service offerings;
• Success in networking with regular contributions to the industry at large;
• Effective verbal and written communication skills;
• Comfortable speaking or presenting in front of clients and peers;
• Availability to work in the office at least 3 days per week.

Annual Salary Range: $150,000 USD - $190,000 USD
