Job summary

Southwest Accounting Resources, Inc is seeking a Senior Tax Manager in Tucson to provide tax compliance and advisory services for a diverse client base including partnerships, corporations, S-corporations, and individuals.

You will lead and mentor a tax team, review complex returns, and manage multiple client engagements while advancing toward a potential Partner role as the firm grows.

Qualifications

• Eight years of tax experience in public accounting.
• Proven work experience as a Tax Manager in public accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree and CPA license.
• Experience mentoring and counseling staff level team members.
• Experience with corporate, partnership and individual taxation as well as consolidations.
• Experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide tax compliance and advisory services to partnerships, corporations, and S-corporations for a variety of clients and individuals.
• Prepare and review complex tax returns for corporate and individual clients to ensure quality.
• Manage a portfolio of client engagements and act as the main contact for clients.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary team to share industry knowledge and experiences.
• Supervise tax professionals and assistants on client projects.
• Deliver high quality tax service and advice and complete tax research or special projects as needed.
• Pursue ongoing knowledge through peers, internal experts, clients, and training opportunities.

Job description

Growing CPA firm in Tucson is looking to add a Senior Tax Manager to their staff. This firm is in growth mode and there is tremendous opportunity to grow with the firm. The Tax team is putting together a succession plan and this position can grow into a Partner role down the road.

Primary Responsibilities:


• Provide tax compliance and advisory services to partnerships, corporations, and S-corporations for a variety of clients as well as individuals.
• Prepare complex tax returns for a variety of corporate and individual clients; review tax returns prepared by staff members for quality assurance.
• Manage a portfolio of clients of varying size and scope and act as the point of contact for internal and external clients.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide industry knowledge and experiences.
• Manage a team of tax professionals and assistants working on client projects.
• Advise clients and be responsible for delivering high quality tax service and advice.
• Complete tax related research and special projects as needed.
• Expand knowledge through exposure to peers, internal experts, clients, regular self-study, and training opportunities.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of eight years of tax experience in a public accounting firm
• Proven work experience as a Tax Manager in public accounting
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and licensed CPA
• Experience mentoring and counseling staff level team members
• Experience with corporate, partnership and individual taxation as well as consolidations
• Experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams
