Job summary

Meritas Advisory Group, LLC in Tempe is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to supervise and mentor a small tax team, review and sign federal and multi-state returns for C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts, Individuals, and Tax-Exempt Organizations. You will report to Tax Partners and Senior Managers and have a pathway to Partner.

The base salary ranges from $140,000 to $175,000, reflecting senior-level responsibility in a growing CPA firm in the East Valley.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required; master's in tax a plus.
• CPA designation required
• 10+ years of tax experience in public accounting, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role
• Direct responsibility for reviewing and signing federal and multi-state tax returns
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a passion for developing others
• Ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships through proactive service
• High level of technical tax knowledge with ability to research and resolve complex issues
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with tax law and industry changes
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to adapt to new technologies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including direct client communications
• Experience with CCH Axcess and ProSystems Engagement preferred

This role will report to, and work closely with Tax Partners & Senior Managers, where you will be responsible for supervising & mentoring a small team as well as reviewing and signing federal and multi-state tax returns for C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts, Individuals, and Tax-Exempt Organizations. This is a great opportunity for a Tax Manager that wants to grow to the Partner level.

Base salary for this role is $140,000-$175,000.
