Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local tax rules for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts/estates.

Responsibilities

Role Description The Senior Tax Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Reno, NV. This role is responsible for overseeing complex tax engagements, including planning, compliance, and review of returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates. The Senior Tax Manager will lead and mentor tax staff, manage client relationships, and provide proactive tax advisory services tailored to client needs and industry focus areas. Day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting and applying tax law, identifying tax-saving opportunities, resolving tax issues, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The role also involves collaborating with partners and other service teams on business consulting, strategic planning, and cross-functional client initiatives.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in tax planning and tax preparation, with experience managing complex and multi-entity structures.
• Candidates should possess expertise in tax compliance and tax law, including the ability to interpret, apply, and communicate current regulations.
• Candidates should possess comprehensive tax knowledge across federal, state, and local tax, with experience in individual, corporate, partnership, and trust/estate taxation.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required; advanced tax credentials (e.g., MST, JD with tax focus) are highly beneficial.
• Several years of progressive public accounting tax experience at the manager or senior manager level, including staff supervision and client management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in deliverables.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted client relationships and collaborate with internal teams.
• Proficiency with tax preparation and research software, as well as general accounting and productivity tools.
• Ability to work on-site in Reno, NV, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
