Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Senior Manager of Tax to lead indirect and corporate income tax for a large multi-state retail operation from the West Des Moines corporate office. You will oversee tax filings, balance sheet reconciliations, and the income tax provision, while mentoring the indirect tax team.

The role requires deep expertise in sales and use tax, multi-state nexus, and tax research, plus strong collaboration with Finance, Legal, Operations, and IT to embed tax considerations into business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred with 7–10 years in multi-state tax.
• Experience with multi-state tax compliance and SAP.
• Retail or grocery industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee indirect tax returns and corporate income tax compliance.
• Develop and mentor the tax team; provide technical guidance.
• Coordinate with third-party providers and internal partners.
• Monitor tax law changes and assess impact on tax positions.
