The person serving in the Tax Counsel / Senior Tax Counsel position will provide tax planning advice and support on a wide variety of income and other tax matters affecting Chevron’s businesses and will report to a Houston-based General Manager in Chevron’s Corporate Tax group.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
A n extensive understanding of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code and the Treasury Regulations promulgated thereunder is a necessity, as are excellent verbal and written communication skills , tax research skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with peers and varied groups of stakeholders.
Knowledge and experience with tax and commercial aspects of international and domestic oil and gas operations, marketing and trading activities, “new” energies, partnerships and joint ventures, and acquisitions and dispositions are relevant to, and are desired attributes of the person fulfilling, the position, as is knowledge and experience with tax accounting, transfer pricing, and Pillar Two.
