Job summary

Columbia Bank is seeking a Tax Accountant to assist the Tax Manager with compliance, planning, and tax accounting across federal, state, and local obligations. The role focuses on preparing income tax returns and supporting audits and tax provisions.

Based onsite in Irvine, CA you will work with cross-functional teams, leverage Excel and tax software, and contribute to SOX and US GAAP controls. Occasional travel may be required; compensation ranges reflect experience and location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Business preferred.
• 4-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and tax software.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and internal controls.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares federal, state, and local income tax returns.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual sales/use tax returns and WA B&O tax returns.
• Prepares quarterly income tax estimates and payments.
• Assists with the income tax provision and audits.
• Assists with annual personal property tax returns.
• Supports tax examinations and other projects as directed.

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Business preferred
