Job summary

County of Orange's Treasurer-Tax Collector is seeking a Tax Collections & Administrative Services Manager to oversee Taxpayer services, Tax Collection operations, and Administrative services, coordinating with the County Auditor-Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP.

The role leads twenty staff and several managers, drives process improvements, manages budgeting and strategic planning for public funds and property tax collection, and ensures efficient cash

Qualifications

• Minimum six years of progressive accounting/finance experience in public sector or large corporation.
• At least three years of lead or management experience in financial & fiscal management or related operations.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and implement programs and procedures to promote efficient tax collections and financial reporting.
• Provide oversight to daily property tax operations, including customer service and remittance processes.
• Oversee General Accounting, escheatment, and Transient Occupancy Tax collections and reporting.
• Monitor taxpayer concerns and ensure compliance with state and county regulations.
• Lead budget planning and strategic initiatives for public funds and tax collection.
