Job summary

South Carolina Department of Revenue seeks an Income Tax Audit Administrator to lead the audit program and professionals ensuring compliance with SC tax laws. You’ll guide complex issues, support appeals, and help enhance audit operations.

Ideal candidates have a accounting/audit background, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience directing teams; willing to travel statewide with occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, business administration, finance, or insurance (transcripts required).
• Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Income Tax Audit program and professionals ensuring compliance with tax laws.
• Guide complex tax issues, support appeals processes, and improve audit processes.
• Oversee Corporate, Discovery/Nexus and Individual Income Tax Audit functions.
• Monitor operations, analyze data, and identify efficiency, productivity and quality improvements.
• Lead discussions with taxpayers, their representatives, agency staff and other agencies to resolve issues.
