What you will do

The Senior Tax Associate will be a key addition to the Finance Organization as eXp continues its rapid global expansion. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced tax professional. Your responsibilities will include supporting 1099 reporting, indirect tax accruals, compliance, communication with tax agencies, reconciliation of indirect tax liabilities, research and management of revenue recognition, state indirect tax issues, and audits. You will work closely with the US Tax Team and outside advisors to manage multi-state indirect tax planning issues, including revenue recognition, nexus, tax registrations, product taxability, exemption certificates, etc.

• Assist with 1099 reporting, revenue recognition research, and handle agent inquiries related to revenue recognition and indirect tax implications.
• Prepare, review, and file indirect tax returns for eXp and subsidiaries, including sales tax, use tax, excise, B&O, and gross receipts taxes.
• Research and calculate taxes on AP invoices and real estate commissions.
• Prepare and process sales and use tax accounting processes, including payment requests, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Assist with special projects, law change implications, and other tax matters.
• Support day-to-day tax department responsibilities related to State and Local tax issues.
• Identify process improvements and implement best practices.
• Assist with direct tax compliance and other projects as needed.
• Maintain technical knowledge in relevant tax areas.
