Job summary

Empirical Wealth Management, LLC in Bellevue, WA seeks a Senior Tax Associate to join our tax practice. This role focuses on technical tax work, collaborative planning, and direct involvement in delivering high-quality service to clients.

You will lead initial tax preparation, review returns, mentor junior staff, perform tax projections, respond to notices, and support advisory and client meetings with strong research and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of public accounting experience with a taxation focus.
• CPA eligible or JD required; Master’s in taxation preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and projects.
• Proficiency in tax software and research tools listed above.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Willingness to be part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

Senior Tax Associate

We are seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join our tax practice. This role is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys technical tax work, collaborative planning, and direct involvement in delivering high-quality service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide initial tax preparation support, including information gathering, workpaper creation, data entry, and first-draft return preparation
• Review returns and selected projects prepared by Tax Associates and interns
• Assist in training and mentoring junior team members
• Prepare tax projections and provide proactive tax planning recommendations
• Prepare responses to IRS and state tax notices and correspondence
• Collaborate with the advisory team on tax planning matters and client service initiatives
• Communicate with clients by phone and email and participate in client meetings as needed
• Conduct tax research and provide support on technical projects and planning matters

Qualifications

• 2-5years of public accounting experience withabackground intaxation
• CPAeligibleor JD required;Master’s in taxation preferred

Compensation

• Salary range: $85,000 – $115,000
• Benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, and Disability Insurance for employees are 100% paid for by the company
