Job summary

Avalara, Inc. is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to support the Premium Managed Returns Service (PRS).

You will act as the primary contact for highly complex returns, protect client revenue, and advance automation and AI in tax workflows. You will manage a portfolio of multi-jurisdictional returns, coordinate with jurisdictions and clients, and drive improvements in processes and AI-enabled workflows while mentoring junior analysts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree may substitute for experience.
• Experience in multi-jurisdictional sales and use tax or tax operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to translate tax concepts for professionals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file multi-jurisdictional tax returns on various cycles.
• Serve as primary contact for complex customer return questions and escalations.
• Research and resolve jurisdictional tax notices with clear communication.
• Drive quality assurance on tax content and form changes.
• Onboard new PRS customers and validate onboarding processes.
