Job summary

Latham & Watkins LLP seeks a Senior Tax Analyst to lead tax schedules, compliance, research, and special projects from the Global Services office in Los Angeles.

You will mentor Tax Analysts, work with the Tax Manager on global tax issues, and support international and expatriate tax compliance, leveraging Checkpoint, Bloomberg Tax, CCH, and Lexis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification.
  • Minimum of four years of public accounting experience in a multi-office setting.
  • Experience with partnership and/or individual income tax returns.
  • Experience with international partnership and expatriate tax issues preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor Tax Analysts and lead accurate tax return preparation and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Tax Manager on global tax issues and respond to compliance questions.
  • Prepare tax schedules for global income, business, sales/use, and property tax returns, plus international tax requirements.
  • Review general ledger analyses and perform QA procedures.
  • Research global tax issues using Checkpoint, Bloomberg Tax, CCH, and Lexis.
  • Protect confidential information and firm data.

About the Role

The Senior Tax Analyst is an integral part of Latham’s Global Tax team. This role will be responsible for acting as a lead tax specialist for the firm with regards to preparing income tax return schedules, tax compliance, tax procedures, tax research, and various special projects, while working with the Tax Manager to develop the Tax Analysts and lead them in their professional development endeavors. This role will be located in our Global Services office.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a mentor and leading the Tax Analysts to prepare accurate tax returns and ensure appropriate tax compliance with regards to various tax procedures and special projects, including audits
  • Working with the Tax Manager to manage the firm’s global tax issues and communicate and answer tax compliance questions
  • Analyzing data provided by the Finance and Accounting group and preparing tax schedules for the preparation of the global income tax returns, business tax returns, sales and use tax returns, property tax returns, and international tax compliance requirements
  • Reviewing applicable general ledger analysis and performing quality assurance procedures
  • Researching global tax issues using Checkpoint, Bloomberg Tax, CCH, and Lexis
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

And have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a similar field
  • A CPA or working progress toward CPA
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in public accounting at a multi-office professional services organization
  • Relevant experience with preparing partnership and/or individual income tax returns, preferably
  • Related experience with international partnership and expatriate tax issues, preferably

Pay Range

USD $95,000.00 - USD $115,000.00 /Yr.
