Job summary

CPS, Inc. in Sycamore, IL seeks a Senior Tax Accountant with 5+ years of experience to join a close-knit tax and accounting practice. The role is roughly 75% tax preparation and review for individuals and businesses, and 25% accounting/advisory work, with strong ownership over client relationships.

You’ll work with a small team, including office staff who assist with tax prep. Start in-person in Sycamore, with potential for hybrid work as trust grows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of tax experience with hands-on prep; review experience is a strong plus
• Experience with both individual and business returns
• CPA preferred, but not required
• Small-firm environment: self-directed yet collaborative

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual and business tax returns
• Provide accounting and light advisory/consulting support to clients
• Work closely with a small team, including office admin who also assists with tax prep
• Help manage workload through the season, from extension crunch to year-round needs
