We are partnering with a large, highly respected global organization in Seattle that is looking to add a Tax Manager to its Federal Tax Compliance & Reporting team. This is a strong opportunity for someone coming from public accounting or a large corporate tax department who wants exposure to complex federal tax matters while continuing to develop their technical and leadership skills.
The team is highly collaborative but gives individuals significant ownership over their work. There is also a major focus on tax technology, AI, automation, and process improvement, making this a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop beyond traditional compliance work.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and review federal income tax returns and audit-ready workpapers, including U.S. reporting of foreign transactions
- Support federal tax provision work, including ASC 740, tax adjustments, and deferred tax positions
- Research and document technical federal tax matters and emerging business issues
- Assist with the U.S. federal components of the worldwide tax provision
- Manage components of the federal income tax return process, including timelines and coordination across tax teams
- Perform tax research and analyze the reporting impact of tax planning initiatives
- Support IRS audits through preparation of responses, schedules, and supporting documentation
- Partner with Finance, Federal Tax Planning, State & Local Tax, and other tax functions
- Work alongside Tax Technology to identify opportunities for automation, AI, and process improvement
- Train and mentor other members of the team
- Participate in special projects and cross-functional tax initiative
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of tax experience
- Experience with a large public accounting firm or multinational corporate tax department strongly preferred
- Strong federal corporate income tax compliance experience, including Form 1120
- Experience with ASC 740 / accounting for income taxes
- Understanding of federal income taxation with some exposure to state/local and U.S. outbound tax matters
- Ability to independently manage projects and competing deadlines
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
- CPA and/or Master’s degree
- Corptax or similar tax compliance/provision software
- Experience with tax technology or data tools such as Alteryx, SQL, Python, or similar platforms
- Advanced Microsoft Office/Excel skills
- Experience identifying and implementing tax process improvements
