Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tax Senior to assist with the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals and associated S-Corp entities. This role requires expertise in California tax preparation and flow-through entities, including partnerships and individual 1040 returns. The ideal candidate will bring accuracy, efficiency, and familiarity with industry tools to deliver quality tax services during the busy tax season.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and/or review federal and California tax returns for individuals (1040) and flow-through entities, including S-Corporations and partnerships.
2. Ensure compliance with California tax regulations and provide accurate tax calculations.
3. Conduct tax planning and identify opportunities for clients to optimize their tax positions.
4. Leverage Lacerte Tax Software to complete tax returns and ensure data accuracy.
5. Collaborate with internal teams to address tax-related issues and client inquiries.
6. Review financial records and QuickBooks files (preferred) to gather necessary data for tax filings.

Qualifications:

1. Extensive experience with flow-through entities, partnerships, and individual (1040) tax returns.
2. In-depth knowledge of California tax laws and preparation requirements.
3. Proficiency in Lacerte Tax Software (required).
4. Familiarity with QuickBooks (preferred).
5. CPA or EA designation strongly preferred.
6. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
7. Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet tax season deadlines.
