Sierra Ventures in Flemington, NJ seeks a Senior Tax Accountant to join a growing CPA firm with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote after onboarding). You will prepare and review tax returns for various entities, perform tax research, and support planning to minimize liabilities while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 3+ years of public accounting tax experience.
• Experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
• CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification preferred.
• Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates.
• Identify tax planning opportunities to minimize current and future tax liabilities.
• Conduct tax research and prepare technical memorandums and client correspondence.
• Assist with ASC 740 tax provisions and tax accrual engagements.
• Collaborate with Tax Managers, Directors, and Partners on complex engagements.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Utilize tax software to maximize engagement efficiency.

What You\'ll Do

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates.
• Ensure client compliance while identifying tax planning opportunities to minimize current and future tax liabilities.
• Conduct tax research and prepare technical memorandums and client correspondence.
• Assist with ASC 740 (FAS 109/FIN 48) tax provisions and tax accrual engagements.
• Work closely with Tax Managers, Directors, and Partners on complex tax engagements.
• Develop strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.
• Mentor and support junior staff while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Utilize tax preparation, research, and workflow software to maximize engagement efficiency.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Experience preparing individual and business tax returns
• Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills
