Job Title: Senior Tax Accountant

Location: Chicago, IL

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join our investment team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling high net worth, partnership, and trust tax returns, and must hold a CPA certification. This role involves managing and executing a variety of tax-related and financial tasks, and providing strategic tax planning advice. This role will have exposure to all accounting and financial duties with the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tax Preparation and Review:
• Prepare and review complex individual, partnership, and trust tax returns.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Identify and apply tax-saving strategies to optimize client tax positions.
• Tax Planning and Advisory:
• Provide strategic tax planning advice to clients, including guidance on tax-efficient investment and business strategies.
• Assist clients with tax audit support and business support under the direction of the Head of Accounting.
• Documentation & Record Management:
• Compile financial statements and prepare response letters to tax authorities.
• Maintain tax difference records, tax return papers, and investigative material discrepancies between tax returns and end-of-period tax accounting records.
• Liaise with senior accounting management advising on tax matters pertaining to payroll, retirement, tax implications, and tax law changes.
• Supervise and mentor junior tax accountants on the proper preparation of financial statements and tax papers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on high net worth, partnership, and trust tax returns.
• Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
