Job summary

Elanco invites applications for a Senior Research Scientist – Target Discovery & Project Leadership based in Indianapolis, IN, with a hybrid work model. You will architect early-stage research to identify and validate targets against endo- and ectoparasites, guiding data-driven decisions to build a robust pipeline for Pet Health and Farm Animals.

The role requires a PhD and 4+ years in industrial R&D with leadership experience, plus a strong track record in target identification/validation and

Qualifications

• PhD in Biology, Veterinary Medicine, Parasitology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in industrial R&D in a project leadership role.
• Proven track record in target identification/validation in Animal Health or Pharma.

Responsibilities

• Lead research to identify/validate novel targets using multi-omics and functional models for molecules and vaccines.
• Drive discovery programs from concept to candidate selection with rigorous scientific approach.
• Lead cross-functional, international teams to transition candidates into the development pipeline.
• Oversee generation/interpretation of complex in vitro/in vivo data to guide decisions.
• Manage strategic collaborations with academic institutions and CROs with External Innovation Team.
