Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a seasoned schedule professional to lead the Tanks scope on a major LNG Export construction project in Port Arthur, TX. • Strong oral and written communication skills; proficiency with Bechtel software applications (e.g., Primavera, MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Prepares project control plans and staffing utilization for tanks on the entire facility.
• Ensures the correct scope of work is reflected on all schedules and integrates interdisciplinary requirements.
• Determines activity durations and evaluates schedule durations relative to milestones.
• Performs project schedule analysis and studies to determine schedule criticality and improvement options.
• Develops quantity release or installation curves for assigned disciplines.
• Reviews quantity records to ensure totals are represented for a discipline.
• Develops jobhour expenditure for assigned disciplines and assists in leveling decisions.
• Performs performance monitoring and control functions.
• Identifies critical-path activities and interfaces between disciplines.
• Develops and monitors short and medium term construction schedules for tanks scope.
• Writes schedule commentary for monthly progress reports.
• Identifies activities with critical or potential schedule impact and prepares Schedule Impact Reports.

Job Summary

In this position, you will perform schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring activities for the Tanks scope on a major LNG Export construction project. You will identify schedule trends, analyze data to provide innovative solutions to scheduling challenges, ensure schedule updates are completed on time, and be responsible for reporting requirements. You will support project organizational and administrative activities and ensure adherence to scheduling standards and procedures. Your leadership will be essential in driving scheduling efficiency and project success and you will be a key communicator of schedule basis and assumptions / risks to various company stakeholders.

Major Responsibilities

• Prepares project control plans and detailed staffing utilization plans for discipline or specialty activities for tanks on entire facility. Reviews design scope criteria and quantities for completeness and reasonableness, and coordinates with the project to develop additional estimating bases when information is incomplete
• Ascertains that the correct scope of work is reflected on all schedules. Integrates interdisciplinary schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical work sequences for assigned disciplines or specialties.
• Establishes and implements methods for determining activity durations within assigned disciplines or specialties. Reviews and evaluates schedule durations for all disciplines’ activities relative to the support of the project milestones.
• Performs project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule activities. Recommends alternatives for schedule improvement to project team for discussion and/or decision.
• Develops quantity release or installation curves for assigned disciplines or specialties.
• Reviews and evaluates quantity records to ensure total quantities are represented for a particular discipline or specialty.
• Develops required jobhour expenditure for assigned disciplines or specialties. Assists in determining leveling decisions.
• Performs performance monitoring and control functions.
• Reviews schedule data, and identifies and acquires the information needed to complete work logics to interface between assigned disciplines or specialties.
• Determines critical-path activities for assigned discipline or specialties, and identifies significant activities supporting interdisciplinary requirements.
• Develops and monitors short and medium term construction schedules pertaining to construction of tanks scope.
• Develops and writes the schedule commentary that appears in the monthly progress and similar reports.
• Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule, and prepares and presents the Schedule Impact Report (CIAR).

Education And Experience Requirements

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysis, specifically in the field office.
• Skilled in oral and written communication.
• Proficiency with PC operating systems, with proficiency in several basic software applications. Proficiency with multiple discipline specific software applications currently used in Bechtel (Primavera and Microsoft Office Applications, for example).
• Advanced knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes and management, as performed by Bechtel, customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
