Job summary

Schneider National is seeking a Senior Tanker Truck Technician in Wilmer, TX to perform major and minor repairs on tanker trailers and tractors. You will conduct inspections, diagnose issues, and prepare accurate work estimations, ensuring safe operation and cost efficiency.

The role requires at least four years of tanker technician experience, with a preference for an associate degree in diesel technology or related field.

Qualifications

• Four+ years tanker technician experience required.
• Associate's degree in diesel technology or related field preferred.
• Mastery of various diesel technician tools: hand and power tools, cutting and welding torches, frame and body straightening equipment, etc.
• Able to provide recommendations on maintenance and repair decisions.
• Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.

Job overview:

• Perform major and minor repairs as an experienced Senior Tanker Truck Technician in Wilmer, TX.


• Work on tanker trailers and tractors.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all repairs involving tanker trailers, including some major wreck repair.


• Complete tanker trailer inspections, diagnosis and work estimations.


• Make decisions on when to repair or replace tanker trailer components that prioritize safety and minimize costs.

Skills and qualifications:

• Minimum of four years of tanker technician experience required. Associate's degree in diesel technology or related field is preferred.


• Mastery of various diesel technician tools, including hand and power tools, cutting and welding torches, frame and body straightening equipment, etc.


• Able to provide recommendations regarding maintenance and repair decisions.
