CNA Insurance in Chicago seeks a Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant to lead full lifecycle recruiting for the Claims business unit. You will own sourcing, candidate evaluation, and offers, partnering with business leaders and HR to fill roles at all levels, including officer roles, within the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; typically seven years of recruiting experience in corporate or agency settings.
  • Commercial Insurance experience is a plus.
  • Strong sourcing and consultative skills to fill roles at all levels.
  • Ability to influence hiring decisions and negotiate offers.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and executes recruiting strategy and operations for a unit/region.
  • Owns end-to-end recruitment, coordinating with hiring managers and HR partners.
  • Develops sourcing strategies to support assigned units.
  • Identifies channels to reach different candidate segments.
  • Assesses candidates, conducts pre-screens and interviews, gathers feedback.
  • Trains and mentors Senior Talent Acquisition Consultants.
  • Manages recruiting projects and process changes.
  • Builds a pipeline of high-potential candidates via relationships.
  • Develops offer recommendations and leads negotiation to secure talent.
  • Maintains vendor relationships and makes recommendations as needed.
  • Prepares staffing activity reports and market analysis.
  • Stays current on hiring trends and employment market conditions.

The Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant is a full life cycle recruiter and individual contributor who will support the Claims business unit. Recognized as a subject matter expert in recruitment, this professional manages all phases of the recruitment process—from developing sourcing strategies and identifying candidates to extending and negotiating offers—while partnering closely with both the business and HR business partners. Their strong sourcing and consultative skills enable them to effectively fill positions at all levels, including officer roles, within the assigned region or business units.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Creates and executes the recruiting strategy and recruiting operations for a business unit(s) and/ or region.
  • Owns the end to end recruitment process and coordinates directly with the hiring manager, HR business partner, and recruiting coordinator to ensure recruiting objectives remain on track.
  • Develops sourcing strategies to support assigned business unit(s).
  • Knows the best sourcing channels to reach different candidate segments.
  • Identifies and assesses candidates, conducts pre-screens, interviews and obtains feedback from management and candidates.
  • Assists in the training and development of Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant(s) sharing insights to guiding principles and best practice approaches.
  • Manages assigned recruiting projects including process changes.
  • Develops a database of high potential, passive candidates through pipelining efforts and relationship recruiting.
  • Partners with hiring managers and HR business partners to develop strategic offer recommendations, and leads the offer extension and negotiation process to secure top talent.
  • Participates in maintaining and monitoring vendor relationships and makes vendor recommendations to management as needed.
  • Prepares and submits staffing activity and analysis as well as other reports for management.
  • Stays current on hiring trends, competitor information and employment market conditions.

  • Solid knowledge of the business and operations for business unit(s) supported.
  • Ability to understand the talent needs of hiring managers awareness of the organizations talent strategy.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to deal with and resolve ambiguous, confidential and sensitive situations.
  • Strong communication and consulting skills.
  • Customer service focus.
  • Proactively develops relationships both across areas of business and candidates.
  • Ability to source and assess candidates with highly specialized technical skill sets.
Education and Experience

Bachelors degree, in a related discipline, or equivalent. Typically a minimum of seven years recruiting experience in either a corporate or agency setting. Commercial Insurance experience a plus.

In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $72,000 to $141,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
