Job summary

JT4, LLC is seeking a Senior Tactical Command and Control Operator to lead and coordinate assets for UTTR training missions and complex test environments. You will oversee mission control, radar displays, and communication networks while ensuring safety and mission objectives are met.

Ideal candidates will have extensive air traffic and weapons control experience, the ability to work demanding shifts, and eligibility for a government security clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; military Air Intercept Control or Air Weapons Control training preferred.
• 6–10 years of aircraft control experience; 8–12 years with electronic systems, radars, and related tech.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct training mission objectives on the UTTR using applicable systems for each mission.
• Set up, operate, and monitor communications networks, LINK terminals, and radar displays to ensure mission success.
• Provide positive control of assets during assigned missions, ensuring safety and training objectives are met.
• Maintain detailed understanding of USAF systems, capabilities, and doctrines across air-to-air, air refueling, and air-to-ground missions.
• Interface with UTTR supervisor and customer to ensure training objectives are met with scheduled systems.
• Interface with project director and customer to ensure test objectives are met with scheduled systems and flights.
• Aid with scheduling and administrative requirements.
• Obey and relay all safety directives issued by UTTR Air Traffic Controllers.
• Perform related work as required.

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

JOB DUTIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Senior Tactical Command and Control Operator provides control, coordination, and direction to personnel operating system assets involved in mission activity under the direction of unit supervision. Contributes to meeting program objectives and assessing effectiveness in analyzing a variety of unusual and conventional test related problems. Performs complex assignments with widely varying duties including the complete cycle of testing parameters as related to primary assignment, determining cause and effect relationships, reaching conclusions, and recommending solutions. Performs with the ability to conduct a variety of tests under stressful conditions, in a constantly changing test environment.

Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:

• Conduct training mission objectives on the UTTR (Utah Test and Training Range) using applicable systems for each mission
• Set up, operate, and monitor communications networks, LINK terminals, and radar displays to ensure mission success
• Provide positive control of assets during assigned missions, ensuring safety and training objectives are met
• Maintain detailed understanding of current USAF systems, capabilities and doctrines in the air-to-air, air refueling and air-to-ground missions, following all applicable Air Force instructions
• Interface directly with the UTTR supervisor and customer to ensure training objectives are met with the scheduled systems
• Provide interface directly with project director and customer to ensure test objectives are met with the scheduled systems and flights
• Aid with scheduling and administrative requirements
• Obey and relay all safety directives and instructions issued by UTTR Air Traffic Controllers
• Perform related work as required

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Should be a high school graduate or equivalent, graduate of a military Air Intercept Control school or Air Weapons Control school and have six (6) to ten (10) years of experience controlling aircraft using close and tactical control. This position requires eight (8) to 12 years of experience with electronic systems, radars, communications/video systems, and knowledge of their operational characteristics. The incumbent must be familiar with testing procedures and experienced in directing the use of test assets and personnel to fulfill mission goals in an ambitious testing environment.

In addition, a Senior Tactical Command and Control Operator must also possess the following qualifications:

• Must be able to possess and maintain a current FAA Class 2 flight physical and be able to pass an annual job skills evaluation per AFI requirements
• Must be familiar with testing procedures and experienced in directing the use of test assets and personnel to fulfill mission goals in an ambitious testing environment
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be experienced in the use of computer terminals
• Must be able to work duty days more than eight hours, shift work, overnight stays, and weekend work to meet required schedule demands
• Must have working knowledge of word processing and integrated software applications
• Will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
• Must possess a valid, state-issued driver's license

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is primarily sedentary in an office and operations center environment; however, some walking, stooping, bending, climbing stairs, stretching, and lifting to 40 pounds may be required. The incumbent must have good visual acuity and the ability to discern all colors of the spectrum.

This position will require some travel.
