Job summary

Basecamp Research in Boston seeks a highly capable Senior T Cell Immunologist to lead on in vivo cell therapy programs in oncology and autoimmunity, reporting to the Head of Innovation Science. This role will own the biology behind our programs from primary human cell assays through IND-enabling studies.

You will design and execute immunology studies, build a small team around you, and collaborate with gene editing, protein engineering, and AI groups to define potency and specificity criteria

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc with extensive industry experience in cell or gene therapy.
• Deep hands-on expertise in primary human T cell biology and functional characterization.
• Experience with gene editing in primary immune cells and related outcome measurements.
• Expertise in multiparameter flow cytometry and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own T cell immunology strategy across oncology and autoimmunity programs and translate goals into assay plans.
• Lead translation into in vivo models including mouse studies and NHP studies for PK/PD and biodistribution, with CRO partnerships.
• Drive pharmacology and safety components of IND-enabling work and contribute to regulatory filings.
• Represent data in pre-IND discussions, partner meetings, and internal governance.
• Design and run in vitro potency and specificity assays in primary human T cells and lines.
• Mentor scientists and grow the team as programs scale.
