Job summary

RAVE Aerospace GmbH is seeking a Senior Systems & Security Engineer to define requirements and design for SATCOM and In-Flight Connectivity products. You will drive system-level design, verify interfaces, and participate in design reviews with customers and internal teams.

You will mentor junior colleagues, explore new technologies, and lead security efforts across embedded and aircraft systems, including threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience as Systems Engineer.
• Working knowledge of security standards: DO-326A/ED-202A, ISO 27000, ARINC 811.
• Proficiency in threat modeling and secure coding; working knowledge of AWS/Azure and security tooling (EDR, SIEM, vulnerability management).
• Knowledge of penetration testing tools (Kali Linux, Nmap, Burp Suite, Nessus, OpenVAS) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer needs into system and equipment requirements; create Use Cases and requirement docs.
• Perform high-level system and subsystem design; verify interfaces and requirements.
• Design reviews participation and presentation, internal and customer.
• Manage technical projects and work packages; R&D involvement as needed.
• Mentor juniors; scout emerging technologies for product adoption.
• Support aircraft and inflight-connectivity security across embedded systems; design and integrate cybersecurity features.
• Lead or support incident response and threat monitoring; perform risk assessments and testing; support compliance.
