Job summary

Google Inc. in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Senior Systems Power Electrical Engineer for Pixel Hardware to own electrical development of power subsystems and drive system-level design. You will lead schematic design, board layout, and cross-functional reviews, collaborating with SW to ensure validation and integration.

The role focuses on energy efficiency, battery life, and thermal management for Pixel devices, requiring experience in DC/DC design and strong system-level thinking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in power electronics, power system design, or hardware/electrical engineering within the consumer electronics industry, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
• Experience in DC/DC system design and validation.
• Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical development of complex power subsystems, under guidance from leads or managers.
• Lead schematic design, board layout, and cross-functional design reviews, driving system power design and optimization.
• Simulate and design complex power circuits like battery chargers, fuel gauges, PMICs, etc., selecting power components for performance, space and thermals.
• Collaborate with Software teams to ensure integration and validation of power systems.
• Support system hardware bring-up, debugging, and manufacturing/deployment readiness.
