In this position...

The Systems Integration Engineer working on Telematics will be responsible for end-to-end integration of the Telematics Control Unit (TCU) and participate in system-level design activities for the subsystem. You will be the point person for TCU-related matters on this platform and lead the bring-up activities in each vehicle build. You will conceptualize, design, engineer, develop, and support the launch of next-generation vehicle platforms for electric vehicles.

Responsibilities

What you'll do…

  1. Lead the design, integration, and functional testing of the Telematics Control Unit (TCU).
  2. Characterize the cellular system by arranging antenna modules in various locations and analyzing results to determine optimal architecture for different vehicle topologies.
  3. Define system-level performance targets and design the TCU system in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  4. Collaborate with software teams to tune telephony and GNSS system performance to enhance customer experience.
  5. Develop the TCU system with controls, security, hardware, and UX teams to meet objectives within budget and schedule.
  6. Create detailed electrical device transmittals for connectivity components and oversee documentation until production.
  7. Work with factory and manufacturing teams to ensure successful TCU deployment, addressing connectivity and diagnostic issues.
  8. Report feature development progress and maturity at various milestones.
Qualifications

You'll have...

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong fundamentals in electrical and embedded systems engineering.
  • 5+ years experience with vehicle network protocols such as CAN, USB, and Automotive Ethernet.
  • Experience developing connectivity systems using 3GPP protocol stack including 5G, 4G LTE.
  • Knowledge of systems development, vehicle architecture, software/hardware tools, functional safety, network, and diagnostics processes.
  • Solid understanding of software systems design in networking and embedded areas, covering the full software development lifecycle.

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience leading product development from concept to deployment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic, high-performing team environment.
  • A systems approach to design and development with a desire for exceptional delivery and continuous improvement.
